Part 1 of my 2 part break from drawing robots... got bored and drew this guy...

I love Azumanga Daioh! And for that reason, I'm not going to name this strange character for who he is, as his appearance in Miss Sakaki's dream sequence and subsequent reveal of his true Identity is one of the funniest punchlines in the whole series.

That said, however, there are a LOT of funny "punch-lines".

I recommend reading both the manga and watching the Anime if you can; they're both great in their own ways.
If you do watch the Anime, watch it In Japanese; the subtitles and the voice acting are better. Though try to see the American DVD release version as the one I found on google video seemed go out of it's way to shoehorn unnecessary obscenities into the subtitles. Then again, maybe that sort of humor appeals to you?

In regards to the little quote at the bottom of the page, THAT is a reference to the Manga, as in one of the volumes at the end (or beginning? I read the "Omnibus" so it's hard to tell where stuff starts and stops...) of each "Chapter" there's a picture of one of the characters, and the phrase "You Belong".
It seemed appropriately friendly for my picture.
